What’s New at Golden Triangle Dentistry: Same Team, More Care Under One Roof

Dr. Neff has retired after more than 34 years, and Dr. H. Pourshirazi is now caring for patients. The team, office and phone number stay the same. Here’s what’s new, what it means for you, and what isn’t changing.

What’s new at Golden Triangle Dentistry?

Dr. William L. Neff Jr., DDS has retired, Dr. H. Pourshirazi, DMD is now caring for patients, and Dr. Stanisai continues to see patients. The team, office, phone, records and accepted insurance stay the same. Who is caring for patients now?

Dr. H. Pourshirazi, DMD is now caring for patients at our Murrieta office. Dr. Pourshirazi graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1994 and has cared for families in the area for more than 27 years.

What does “specialists under one roof” mean for me?

It means care you might have traveled for will be available right here. In Dr. Neff’s words: “Oral surgery, root canal treatment, orthodontics (braces and aligners) and children’s dentistry will be available right here, so you will not need to travel to another office.” Here’s what each covers:

  • Oral surgery: surgical care such as removing impacted wisdom teeth and other teeth that need a surgical extraction, as the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons describes.
  • Root canal treatment: removes inflamed or infected pulp from inside a tooth to save the natural tooth. In general, the American Association of Endodontists describes endodontists as dentists with two to three years of advanced training in diagnosing tooth pain and performing root canal treatment.
  • Braces and clear aligners: ways to straighten teeth. The American Association of Orthodontists describes clear aligners as nearly invisible plastic shells that gradually move teeth, and notes some cases are treated more predictably with braces.
  • Children’s dentistry: care for infants, children and teens. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry advises a first dental visit when the first tooth appears, or by the first birthday.

Can I get dental implants at your office?

Yes. Dr. Neff’s letter describes “dental implants placed in our office, from start to finish,” so the whole process happens in one familiar place.

An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth. The FDA explains that it’s placed in the jawbone and connected to a replacement tooth, such as a crown, bridge or denture, and that healing may take several months or longer. Learn more about dental implants.

What new dental technology are you adding?

We’re adding 3D imaging, digital X-rays and digital impressions, which the letter says are “for more comfortable visits and fewer appointments.” See our 3D imaging and digital impressions page for more.

  • 3D imaging: usually cone beam CT (CBCT). The FDA explains that the machine rotates around you and builds a three-dimensional image of your teeth, mouth and jaw, used for things like implant planning and finding root canal problems.
  • Digital X-rays: images taken with a sensor and computer instead of film. Cleveland Clinic notes they use much less radiation than film X-rays.
  • Digital impressions: a small wand takes pictures of your teeth to build a 3D model. Cleveland Clinic says this can be more comfortable than putty impressions, especially with a strong gag reflex.

Will there be new ways to pay?

Yes. The letter describes “more payment choices, with flexible financing options to help fit care into your budget.” Today we accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and CareCredit. Read about payment options and financing and dental insurance.

Is now a good time to come in?

If it’s been a while since your last checkup, or you’ve been putting off treatment, Dr. Neff’s letter invites you to come in and meet Dr. Pourshirazi. Many dental benefits renew at the end of the year, and our team is happy to help you use yours before then.

Questions & answers

Common questions

Do I need to transfer my records?

No transfer is needed, because your records stay right here at our office. If your health, medications or insurance have changed since your last visit, let our team know. For other paperwork questions, call (951) 677-1054 and our team will answer that.

Is Dr. Neff still seeing patients?

No. Dr. Neff has retired after more than 34 years of caring for patients and their families. Dr. H. Pourshirazi is now caring for patients, and Dr. Stanisai continues to see patients. You can read about Dr. Neff’s years with us on his page.

Is 3D dental imaging safe?

It’s used with care. The FDA says dental CBCT doses are generally lower than other CT exams but typically higher than standard dental X-rays. The FDA adds that it should be used only when it gives information other imaging can’t, at the lowest dose that gives a clear image. Younger patients are more sensitive to radiation.

Will my insurance cover the new services?

It depends on your plan. We continue to accept the same insurance plans, including the UFCW member dental plan, but coverage for care like implants, braces or aligners varies. Call (951) 677-1054 with your plan details and confirm your benefits before treatment begins.

Will the new services be at a different location?

No. The letter says this care will be available right here, so you won’t need to travel to another office. Implants are placed in our office, from start to finish, at the same Suite 202 address you already know in Murrieta.
